jesus you have alot of rats! i would like one but my stepmom isnt too 'fond' of them (what a hurdle it was with the ferrets!)

yeah I need to update this one a bit as some have passed since this ;o; the ones with rip an heart by them are dead from over the years ;o;. We have 36 all together right now :3. We are letting the numbers go down before buying any more or having any more so we can have more time with each rat. The only reason we have as many as we do is because we had purchased two that were already pregnant with out our knowledge D:. Of course we weren't gonna toss them to a pet store who will feed them to the snakes as some owe kept an raised them into the sweet rats they are now :3. Hope you can someday get one they are unlike any other animal

Thank ya aw sounds like a cute rattie :3. I imagine black hooded rats would be easy to find I see them most often. The blue (sort of a grey color) and blue hooded rats seem more rare where I am

I only ever see them in petshops
I get my rats from rescue centers, you see, and most of the time they're white based rats, or agouti. Apparantly, people put them up for adoption because they're too commonly coloured, and they want better coloured rats, like blues, burmese, fawns and roans etc etc. They also seem to be pursuaded that dumbo rats are better than top ears, so will even pay more to buy dumbo rats... Hence why there's hardly ever any dumbos in rescue centers Stupid people

yeaah I have only ever got my dumbos from pet shops :/ Though if you look in petshops like petsmart sometimes people return rats and they can't be sold again because of that and have to be adopted out free which you sign same old stuff as usual when getting a rattie. Thats how I got my Zelda who was the 2nd rat to ever steal my heart after my old Zizi the first rattie I ever had. They told me that the woman who bought her for her kids said she was too aggressive which was a ton of crap cus she was the tamest rat after zizi I had ever met at firt meeting already. They said she was in the back after being returned for 2 weeks D: and who knows how long before she was purchased before that. They really missed out on a wonderful rattie and great few years . Haven't had ratties like them since so far since my two have gone after one hit 3 years and the other hit near 3 years. God were they ever spoiled XD but deserved it. They were the only ones I could trust to sleep with me in bed LOL they would snuggle up on my chest, neck, between the pillows of the bed, or like by the inside of my legs which I made into like a 4 shape LOL. I had that mommy instinct knowing they were there and wouldn't move an inch in my sleep. When my bunny boy would get ready to go to sleep after me I would always be all jumping up all NOO LOL but he knew better and would have already sneaked them out to their cages first haha. I so miss them D: they were both black hooded ratties I think thats why I like them so much black hooded ones I mean XD.
